Aldeburgh Delivers for our SS21 Shoot

We had a fantastic day on Thursday for the O&C spring/summer photoshoot. Lockdown provided a rare opportunity to use the shop as our base. So for once we didn’t have to take all the outfits to the location and we were able to just step outside onto a glorious Aldeburgh backdrop. Having worked with Sylvaine Poitau (lashedphotography.com) and Suzie Love since 2015 it’s fair to say that we’re a well-oiled machine when it comes to getting the most out of the day, huge thanks to both of you. This season... Read More

Wooly Pully Week 2019

As well as wearing their Christmas Jumpers, Aldeburgh clothing store O&C Butcher will be donating £5 of every jumper sold during Woolly Pully Week to St Elizabeth Hospice.  We raised over £400 in 2018 and this year we want to raise even more. Money raised will help support local patients and families over the festive season. Woolly Pully Week is an annual event encouraging people to wear their Christmas Jumpers to work in return for a small donation to the hospice.  All women’s and men’s jumpers bought between 9 –... Britten’s High Street – The History of Shopping in Aldeburgh

As part of the Sharing Suffolk Stories initiative the Britten’s High Street project has been set up by the Archive Team at the Red House in Aldeburgh to explore the history of shopping in our town. Benjamin Britten and Peter Pears are obviously key pieces in Aldeburgh’s rich tapestry, and we were very lucky that they shopped at O&C Butcher from the 1950’s-1970’s.  They were customers way back when O&C had a grocery shop but over 50 receipts show the clothes and accessories that they bought from us over the...
