Richard Stacey

It is with great sadness that I have to announce the passing of my father, Richard Stacey (73), who died peacefully at home on Monday 24th February. Dad had been unwell for some time, but things took a turn for the worse recently.

Dad was the driving force behind our family business.  Mr Positive, enthusiastic and passionate, he was a ball of energy until illness started to slow him down in the last few years.  I always asked him to cast his (constructively) critical eye over the shop when he came over…and then often wished I hadn’t as he gave me a long list of jobs!  He was a natural retailer and an excellent buyer, always looking for things that were colourful, different and a reason for customers to shop with us.

He taught me so much about life, business and retail and deciding to work alongside him in the family business was one of the best decisions I ever made.

He will leave a big hole and will be sorely missed by all of us at O&C Butcher and Fleur.  The funeral will be held on Tuesday 10th March at Harleston Church, when both shops will be closed for the day as a mark of respect.
