Spring, it’s a gradual process…
From -10C in 1956 to 19.7C in 1998 it’s fair to say that February weather can be changeable. Who would have thought that we’d be blessed with such a lovely Half Term week here on the coast – we don’t need to break records, we’re very happy to reach double digits thank you. But what does this mean for your wardrobe? The fashion press will talk about ‘transitional’ layers but this just means it’s time to think about what you’re wearing under your jumper. If you’re lucky it might be warm enough to take that jumper off and we might not want to see a tatty tee that’s been hiding under a chunky knit all winter.
Another easy way to gradually bring in the spring is to swap your heavy boots for lighter footwear. Don’t put the boots away for good (remember how much snow we had last March?) but reach for the chukkas, the trainers and perhaps even a loafer. We don’t insist on baring flesh but the dedicated fashionistas will most definitely have their ankles out at the first sight of sun.
